Festac Lounge, Vaughan, Ontario<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Luxury backlit Onyx for a high-end Nightclub interior.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this project, Luminous Stone fabricated and installed dramatic backlit stone features for the main bar and VIP bar within a hospitality reno in Vaughan, Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project, designed for a bold setting, was designed for a surface that could provide more than a simply premium finish. The client asked for a full-colour bar and backsplash feature with a luxurious, entertainment-focused experience. Natural onyx was selected for its translucency, movement, and ability to transform under light.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Stone Selection: Natural Tiger & Black Onyx<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For this project in particular, the designers featured Natural Tiger Onyx <\/strong>for its veining, movement and ability to glow when backlit. For the VIP Bar, Natural Black Onyx<\/strong> was used to create a deeper, more intimate experience that shares the same luminous effect.

Both of these stones were selected specifically for their ability to be backlit. Their translucency allows the RGBW lighting system<\/strong> to pass through the stone, which highlights the variation within each slab. Thus, creating a bold presence that is a nightclub.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Full-Colour Backlighting<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This project was specifically designed around colour, contrast and atmosphere. Behind the stone, we integrated a full-colour RGBW lighting system that allows the bars to shift in tone, depending on the mood choice for the space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theh lighting, controlled by a remote and supported by a commercial-grade transformer with internal cooling fans, make the system extremely suitable for luxury hospitality environments.

Scale & Fabrication<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A defining detail about this project is the scale. The main bar alone created a continuous illuminated feature and required six full slabs of Natural Tiger Onyx<\/strong> to create a significant visual impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the stone itself is strong and visually substantial in appearance, the material itself is quite thin<\/strong>. To be able to achieve the bold architectural look, the bar was finished with a 4-inch thick appearance<\/strong> profile edge. This gives the surface a more robust and high-end look while keeping the actual construction lightweight.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Custom Detail<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Completing the bar display, custom shelves were fabricated and installed along the wall to showcase different liquor bottles against the illuminated stone. This connected the functional bar area by adding depth and warmth with the overall visual atmosphere of the lounge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed for Entertaining<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Festac Lounge is a great example of how backlit stone can be used to create a feature or statement piece within a commercial\/ hospitality design. Combining the Tiger and Black onyx with full-colour lighting and large-scale fabrication created a focal point that s stunningly bold that supports the vibe of a high-end nightclub environment.

Bringing luxury stone to life<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A project like Festac Lounge shows how natural stone can move beyond simply a traditional surface and becomes part of the entire experience itself. We transformed the bar area using translucent onyx, full-colour lighting, and custom fabrication creating a bold architectural feature design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
